The PHYX Approach
Experts in Physiotherapy and Wellness
At PHYX Newcastle, our goal is simple, to empower movement for life. We believe movement is medicine and, when guided by expert care, it has the power to build strength, confidence, and everyday wellbeing.
PHYX Newcastle is grounded in evidence based Physiotherapy, with care that goes beyond hands on treatment alone. Our team focuses on education, structured programming, and measurable progress, supporting long term recovery and sustainable movement.
Pilates, strength training, massage, and meditation are offered as supportive services within our studio, working alongside our Physiotherapy care to reinforce strength, control, and confidence. Our Pilates and strength classes follow structured programs designed to encourage consistency and meaningful improvement over time.
We are known for personalised care, small class sizes, and a welcoming community that supports you at every stage of your movement journey. Everything we do is centred on helping you move well, stay strong, and feel confident for years to come.

Do you accept health insurance or Medicare?
Yes. We accept private health insurance for physiotherapy services, and you can claim on the spot through HICAPS.
We also accept Medicare Chronic Disease Management plans. These require a referral from your GP and include a rebate; however, there will be an out of pocket cost for your appointment.
If you need help understanding what you can claim, contact us and we can guide you through the process.
Do I need a referral to attend PHYX?
No referral is needed. You can book physiotherapy, Pilates, strength, massage, or meditation directly with us. If you are unsure where to begin, our team can guide you toward the right first step.
Do I need an initial consult before starting Pilates or strength classes?
Not always. Many clients join classes without a physiotherapy assessment. If you have an injury, are pregnant or postpartum, or would like personalised guidance, we may recommend an initial consult so we can support you safely and effectively.
Is PHYX accessible?
PHYX Newcastle is located on the first floor, and access is via stairs with no lift available. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact us so we can discuss the best way to support you.
Which class should I start with?
Any of our classes can be adapted for beginners. Let your instructor know you are new and arrive a few minutes early so we can support you and talk through any questions.
If you’d like more detail about our class styles, head to our Pilates page for a full breakdown.
Where can I park?
There is street parking available around the studio, including paid and timed spaces. We are also a short walk from Wharf Road, which usually has plenty of parking throughout the day.
We recommend allowing a few extra minutes to find a spot, especially during busier periods.
